King died of a heart attack March 24,1958. He was 26 years old. He sired 658 registered foals in 23 corps. He had 104 halter-point earners, and 106 working-point earners, and sired 20 AQHA Champions. And even now, years after his death, the industry is still influenced by third-, fourth-, and fifth- generation King-breds.
